In this property we started by bringing the girls’ creative ideas for their bedrooms to life. We built new, spray laquered doors for the wardrobes and painted a unique design on the walls. We completely renovated the girls’ bathroom with blue marble-effect tiles and gold taps with creative storage on both sides of the bath. In the master ensuite, we used these fantastic onyx effect porcelain tiles to create a spa-like feel in the smaller space. Our cients wanted to use the basement but it was damp and smelly with moth-ridden carpets. In order to access the basement, we removed the walls and opened up the entrance with a new handrail. The spindles had to be recreated by matching the originals as close as possible by a creative turner. We lifted the warped basement floor and discovered that there was no insulation between the wet ground and the flooring. We filled the space with Kingspan, replaced the flooring with tile and the damp smell was gone. We replaced the unused kitchen in the basement with a new, bright laundry room with lots of storage and a deep sink to wash the dog with pull out spray tap. We converted the old laundry room into a full room of storage on the ground floor. The workout room needed a fresh look so we clad the walls in mirrors, used thick gym matting on the floor and put the TV on the wall so our clients could follow their workouts on the big screen. We replaced the units in the basement guest shower and repainted the guest bedroom while changing the carpeting to refresh the whole place. We also built bespoke storage under the stairs with wine fridge to store drinks and odd shaped boxes.
